Require a deposit on quotes

Ask for a percentage or fixed deposit — the customer pays it by card the moment they approve your quote.

Updated Jul 30, 2026

A deposit turns an approval into commitment. With a deposit set, the customer's Approve button becomes "Approve & pay" — they approve and pay in one step, and the deposit lands on the invoice FieldOps creates from the accepted quote.

  1. 1When creating or editing a quote, find the Deposit field.
  2. 2Choose Percentage or Fixed and enter the value — the editor previews exactly what the customer will pay up front.
  3. 3Send the quote as usual. On the quote page the customer sees the deposit summary and pays by card at approval.
  4. 4Back on your Quotes list, the quote shows a deposit chip: blue while pending, then "Deposit paid" or "Deposit due" once approved.

Card deposits require Stripe to be connected. Without it, customers can still approve the quote — the deposit is just arranged separately.
