How money moves: quote → invoice → payment
The FieldOps money flow in one page: quotes and invoices are created from jobs, and payments attach to invoices.
Updated Jul 30, 2026
FieldOps keeps one money vocabulary. A job carries the price. A quote is the customer-facing offer built from the job. An invoice is the bill. A payment is money actually collected against an invoice.
- 1Create a quote from the job (or from the Quotes page) with line items from your price book or typed in.
- 2Send it — the customer gets a branded email with a private link where they can approve or decline, no login needed.
- 3When they approve, FieldOps automatically creates a draft invoice from the accepted quote.
- 4Review and send the invoice. The customer pays online by card from their invoice link, or you record a cash or check payment yourself.
- 5The invoice rolls up what's been paid; the Payments page and reports show collected vs. outstanding.
Want more than one price on a quote? Offer Good / Better / Best options — the customer picks a tier when approving, and the invoice bills only that tier. You can also require a deposit at approval.
Card payments require connecting your Stripe account — a one-time setup.
