Protect your account with two-step verification
Set up an authenticator, add a backup, and understand account recovery.
Updated Oct 6, 2026
Two-step verification is optional for every account, on every plan. It adds a six-digit authenticator code after your password. Each team member manages their own protection through Account security in the account menu or Settings → Security.
- 1Choose Set up authenticator and give the device a recognizable name.
- 2Scan the QR code in an authenticator app. On the same phone, open Can’t scan? Show setup key and copy that key into your authenticator app. Keep the key private.
- 3Enter the current six-digit code and choose Verify and enable. An unfinished setup does not turn protection on.
- 4Add a backup authenticator on a separate device before signing out. Either verified authenticator can complete sign-in.
Replace or remove an authenticator
Add and verify your replacement first. Then choose Remove beside the old authenticator and confirm with a fresh code from any remaining device. Removing the final authenticator turns two-step verification off.
Lost your device?
Choose a backup authenticator on the verification screen. Password-reset emails and team account recovery do not remove two-step verification. If every authenticator is lost, contact support for help. Restoring access requires identity verification; recovery codes are not provided.
Setup and sign-in verification require an internet connection. Keep your device clock automatic if codes fail. Two-step verification does not encrypt existing offline job snapshots; use your device lock and sign out on shared devices.
